After being selected to quote based upon previous projects evidenced on our website, Refcool was subsequently asked to design and manufacture a bespoke, high quality, critical cooling system for a life sciences application.
2 chillers, duty and back up were mounted on a split skid to allow for ease of disassembly after factory acceptance tests and thereby allowing passage through a tight access route into the end users premises.
These chillers cool propylene glycol to below 0c and recirculate this fluid around a large volume insulated weir tank.
On the process side, duty standby pumps serve the clients facility with a fixed flow rate and the system provides a very stable temperature delivery essential for the process.
Our client an expert in delivering projects within the life-science field, designed and built the interface controls with Refcool providing full mechanical design and build and as a team the project was delivered within a very tight schedule and met the high standards of excellence in design and finish required by the end user.
Key features of this project were the 3D mechanical design ensuring best access to all key valves and controls and system design resilience including large thermal buffer, twin chillers and pumps.
